Since 1971, Robert Francis has been an attorney-at-law who delivers representation in a wide range of legal areas, from criminal defense to real estate. One of Aspen, Colorado’s pioneering lawyers, he served as Pitkin County Bar Association president in 1967. Robert Francis organized meeting that brought together local practitioners, and also engaged as s countywide mediator. Also maintaining a real estate broker’s license, Robert Francis has assisted with complex transactions.

Mr. Francis holds an economics degree from Indiana University and earned his JD with honors at the University of Michigan. He served his country from 1960 to 1967 in the US Marine Corps, and was active in the Vietnam conflict. He excelled at aerial reconnaissance and held a first lieutenant rank at the time of his honorable discharge.

Mr. Francis has a strong community presence and served as Mountain Rescue Aspen first responder for 10 years. He was tasked with coordinating helicopter rescue missions that brought injured hikers and skiers from remote locations back to civilization and qualified medical providers. Also an outdoor enthusiast, he has taken part in multi-day bike rides and run a number of half-marathons and marathons.
